4th of July & Summer Activites
I have just returned from a few weeks on the Road! It has been a whirlwind beginning of summer, I have been busy working on some non-skiing things that have been taking up a lot of my free time! Since my last update I have actually been bouncing around quite a bit, it has been very fun! I have been able to spend a lot of time in Steamboat, I also made a trip to Moab for a long weekend as well! Moab is always a blast and great training at the same time! About two weeks ago my team and I packed our Road Bikes up and flew out to NY for some biking with our team sponsor Basin Holdings. We did three days and a little under 220 miles! The middle day was our focus, as it was the Cancer Fundraiser ride starting and ending at West Point (a 100mi day). It was a wonderfully put together ride with an awesome route and a huge turnout! All in all the NY trip was a blast as always riding with "Team Basin Holdings" around the NY countryside! Check out some photos from these past trips!
After our trip to NY we quickly did our laundry and repacked for our training camp in Steamboat leading up to the 4th of July. We spent a week in Steamboat doing some fun training with the local club and some club guys from Park City as well. We did the annual Fish Creek Falls time trial on roller skis and some intervals earlier in the week. We also did a lot of jumping, a hot but fun way to feel at home! We then finished the week up with our annual 4th of July fun competitions! It started with a 3km race on Lincoln Ave right before the parade began! We then headed down to Howelsen Hill for the Elimination Jump Competition after the parade! It was a great time this year, I jumped better than I have in past years as well. Decker Dean took the win, I got 2nd and Ben Berend got 3rd, it was a Steamboat Sweep!! It was a super fun week as always, I am now back in Park City gearing up for some more hard training in hot weather. I will start updating my website more frequently so be sure to check back! Check out a few photos from the 4th!
