Competing on Home Turf!

​Happy New Year, just like that we are into 2021 and the season is underway! As this Fall ended I spent my days in Utah getting more quality training in. This has been the year to fall more in love with where I live, whether I had a choice or not, (luckily I did!). The transition from fall and summer training activities always seems to drag on when you live in the mountains. As per usual we got an early snow fall that allowed us to ski for a week or so… then it melted off and out came the roller skis and running shoes again. I was able to stay productive and motivated through this portion of the training period. It is sometimes hard for me to do this, thanks to my coaches and team I was able to take advantage of the situation I had. Check out some photos from Fall! 

​To kick off the winter season my team and I were lucky enough to compete on home soil, as Park City hosted the first Continental Cup Competitions of the season. We don’t have very much natural snow as of now but the venues were able to have the course and ski jump in perfect condition (thanks to man-made snow). Considering how this year has gone around the world, I felt extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to compete at all. Along with that, my coaches and I were able to build off the work I had put in throughout the training year and bring it to a simple confident mindset going into the competitions. I had a solid start to the season, putting myself in the fight on all three days and learning a lot! Check out some media!

​After the competitions I have been able to continue to get great training here in Park City. I have also gotten out in the backcountry for what I like to call ‘nature’s therapy’ in the beautiful mountains I am fortunate enough to live in! I am now in the process of locking in travel logistics for the rest of the season, more on that soon!
