After our stay in Liberec we then moved on to the town of
Oberwiesenthal, Germany. We were here so that the older athletes on the team could compete in the summer Grand Prix events. We all got to have a training session on the 90m hill the day before the competition which was fun. This is a World Cup level event but in the summer. The first day they had qualification jumps and a team event which consisted of a trial jump and a competition jump on the 90m hill. Then afterwards they did a team event skate ski loop through the town of Oberwiesenthal. Me and my teammate Nicholas Madden who is the same age as me watched these competitions and took some pictures for our team
On the second day there was an individual competition on the same hill and on a slightly different loop through the town. One of our teammates got disqualified and another didn’t qualify for the event so that was a bummer but our other teammates were able to compete. We watched them jump and skate and then we headed off to our next stop of Harrachov, Czech Republic.
