Return to the States
I have recently returned from my Europe training camp and I am psyched on how the trip went. I was able to pick up the level of my jumping throughout the trip which I was very happy about. Since we had all of our coaches with us on this trip they were able to get tons of videos of both our take offs and our entire flights. This was very helpful for me in order to make major improvements on the jump hill. On the skate sking side of things I was able to get some great training with the older and faster athletes on the A & B teams. At the end of our trip in Oberstdorf, Germany it started dumping snow, they got about a foot of new snow which is super exciting except for the fact that we didn't have any of our ski stuff with us.
I am now in Steamboat training hard and working for the next month before everything starts to get real busy. I will be between Steamboat and Park City for the next month dependent on where the snow is and who has more to ski on. This month is our final push of hard training before the competition season. We will tone down the workload of dryland and shift over to our winter training activities. We will be skiing on Rabbit Ears Pass until there is skiing in Steamboat, also doing imitations of jumping with our coach until there is enough snow to jump! Below is a video of the roller ski course in Ramsau, Austria. This is the course I crashed on but not this run down. They have these courses all over Europe which are great to train on because we don't have to worry about cars. Check it out!
