This past week I spent in Planica, Slovenia which at this point in my trip feels like home since I have been here so many times. I also was able to get four great jumping sessions with my coach Martin on the K125m hill. This was amazing as most of the time I was one of maybe four jumpers on the hill. I was excited to jump this hill as I don’t get a lot of training sessions on bigger hills in Europe during the winter time. Unfortunately the weather was very warm and the ski trails tended to be very slushy and soft by the end of the day. There were much less trails available to ski because of this however I was still able to get some great skis in while I was in Planica. One of the days after jumping Martin and I drove down a little ways into Italy to do intervals on a different track that is better suited for intervals. Although it was very slushy as well I was still able to get in a good interval session. Overall it was a great week of training and recovery and a little time off to regroup before meeting back up with the rest of the team.

The jump stadium in Lahti, Finland
On Monday March 2nd Martin and I traveled to Lahti, Finland to meet up with the rest of the World Cup team consisting of Taylor & Bryan Fletcher, Adam Loomis, and Ben Berend. Yesterday we were able to get a few jumps on the hill here before it got to windy to continue. I was able to get to jumps and get used to the hill, It was a very fun jump session as it is the first time I have jumped on this hill. During the jump session it was so foggy that I was unable to see Martin standing on the coaches stand at the takeoff. This adds a level of adrenaline and makes for a very fun session. After that we did some intervals on the trails that will be used this weekend. It will be a hard course but very fun at the same time. I am extremely psyched to be here at the World Cup and around our team as I have a lot to learn from all of them. I am excited to take in everything I can and learn how the big dogs operate! I will update again soon on how the weekend goes but make sure to watch social media to see how Team USA does! You can also go here to see all of the results of the Individual event and here for the team event the next day!
