This past weekend my team and I traveled to Lake Placid, NY for US National Championships. We left on wednesday and were there until Monday morning. The first couple days that we were there were spent jumping and getting used to the hill in Lake Placid. We also did a roller ski around the roads of the Olympic Training Center (OTC) in Lake Placid. Whenever we travel to Lake Placid we are able to stay at the OTC which is a dorm type place attached to the training center. The first day that we got there we jumped in the morning which was very fun. In the afternoon we went roller skiing around town which was very fun because of all the fantastic colors of the leaves around town. The next day we jumped again in the morning and we were able to do weights in the training center. The following day was Saturday and the first day of competition along with official training. This was a small event mostly for the younger kids that everyone competed in as well. The big day was Sunday and it started in the morning with the jumping portion of the event. I did not jump as good as I could have but I jumped fairly well. Based on my jumping I started in 15th place two minutes back from the leaders. The race was a 10km race and it took four laps, It was a fun race and I skied great. I ended up finishing in 15th place again which I was very happy about. This trip overall was very fun and I had a fun time and gained a ton more experience.
